Rules of the Rally
1) The rules of the rally are straightforward.  Follow the directions, and answer questions about what you see along the way.  Please obey all traffic laws, and the laws of common sense.
2) Directions:  They are given in an abbreviated manner.  In the Turn column, you are told to turn right [R], left [L], or straight [Cross Over].  In the turn column, you will also see these instructions:
R (Quick), L(Quick):  Make this turn very soon after the previous turn Instruction
L@Stop, R@Stop:  Make this turn at the stop sign.
R@T, L@T, R@Y, L@Y:  Make this sort of turn at a T or Y intersection indicated.
R@TL, L@TL:  Make this sort of turn at a Traffic Light.  Passing through Multiple Traffic Lights are indicated like this:  L@ 2nd TL, R@3rd TL, and so on.
Cross Over:  You Come to a Stop Sign.  Continue on in the same direction across the main road.
Stay Left at apparent Y:  Veer to the indicated side at an otherwise ambiguous fork in the road
Exit:  Take this exit number off the road you're on
Note:  Any special instructions may be spelled out
3) Questions and Answers:  They may be simple, or they may be cryptic.  The questions are in sequential order.  The questions are within the Leg # indicated.  After you have answered all the questions in a Leg, you may proceed to the next turn.  The questions are such that you should NOT have to get out of the car to answer them.  All questions are asked in a place where you should have space to pull over to view them, if desired.  Answers should be visible from the seats of your car.  You ARE permitted to leave your car to get a better look if you so desire.  Questions with single quotes indicate something that is literal.  Questions with double quotes refer to a description of the item.  Answers will be provided at the end of the rally after all participants have completed the course, and scoring has been completed by the rallymaster.
4) Bonus Questions:  Several bonus questions are listed at the start.  Their answers either accumulate over the course of the rally, or are not necessarily part of any particular Leg.  The points indicated count towards your total score.
5) Scoring:  Questions will have point values assigned to them from 1 to 5 points.  They indicate the difficulty of the question relative to the other questions on the rally.  Photos of the answers will be available to the ralliers after the scoring review by the rally master. In the unlikely event of a disputed question, the answer chosen by the rallymaster is the one which will earn the points.
6) Totals:  The highest total number of points wins the rally. In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the car that has their total mileage closest to that of the rallymaster. If the tie remains, the shortest time to complete the rally will determine the winner.
