2000 Z3 Homecoming

Boy, this trip came and went rather quickly. It was almost over before I knew it. Saturday night, Rachel called to discuss plans for Sunday, but unfortunately I was a bit under the weather due to a chronic condition I have. I was not up for a lot on Sunday, so I excused myself from doing anything except heading to the lunch at the Woodfield Inn.

Packing is such sweet sorrow. After reviewing my previous pictures, I found that I didn't get one of the Performance Center. So, here's one! I took it after passing it, and remembering, so I made a U-Turn to snag it. Ok, I snagged two, but this was the better of them, and I was running late. . I ended up running across a bunch of Z3s, so I followed them. Little did I know they weren't going to the Woodfield Inn! I realized shortly after missing one turn, so I made another U-ie-, and got back on track. On the way, the NC police were out in full force, and one of them even zipped past me to snag a perp just ahead of me, so I kept it at or below the speed limit for the rest of the trip. On the way, I passed through the little hamlet of Zirconia, but surprisingly, nothing was cubic.

Just up the road was the Woodfield Inn, where everything was all ready for us. A lot of people had already arrived, but I found a nice cozy spot right at the end of the parking area. The cars looked very nice together, and we had a great vantage spot to sit and watch 'em while we ate. Ok, here's another panoramic shot. People seemed more concerned with their cars than with the long lunch line, and there's nothing wrong with that!

Of course, what Homecoming photo spread would be complete without a picture of Wayne and Amy Lester? They've done so much for us, this year became the time for us to do something for them. Originally, quietly, Tim UK sent out some email for taking up a collection to present them with a set of new wheels for their Z3. Well, as time progressed, they got a new set of wheels. Ok, then, we wanted to get 'em a set of tires. Well, as time progressed, they got a new set of tires. Ugh, what to do? Well, Tim decided, in the end, to just give them a Gift Checque. So, they were totally surprised, and we were all grateful.

As time progressed, people started heading out. I wasn't sure what to do, as I was thinking I'd link up with Rachel for the ride home, but she hadn't showed. Actually, that's not true. She, Micheal Wand and Dave Todd pulled in, and hastily grabbed some food before it was all put away. I guess the Woodfield Inn people expected that everyone had already come and gone, but not really :-) So, anyway, it turns out that Rachel, et al, had driven around early in the AM, and showed up at the Woodfield some hours earlier, but it was too soon, so they ended up going out for some more driving.
