It's just Sex from the Internet Movie Database
A drama that spans multiple couples living in Los Angeles. One couple is straight, two are gay, and one is a lesbian couple, plus other people. Their lives center around Jennifer Tilly, a serious gossip who can't keep anything to herself, except when it happens to involve her. Some relationships begin, others end, and yet others continue. This is not a mainstream film, as it involves some serious subject matter, and it's not for the faint of hearted. This story continues until it ends on a down note, as if to close a chapter in the story of these people's lives. Life goes on.
I had intended to see this film when it premiered back at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival in January of that year. Ok, that's partially because I have a thing for Jennifer, and that when I held a door open for her at Sundance, I was too dumbfounded to even ask for a photo. I had expected this movie to have opened a long time ago, but these things take time, especially when talking about independent films such as this. When I was back at Sundance, I was at the main offices of the Independent Film Channel, where they had the cast in for an interview. They definitely had a lot of fun making the film, but since I didn't see the film at that point, I intentionally didn't listen too closely.
Needless to say, I was surprised to see it in the theater listings, so being a patron of non-mainstream media, I went. In the end, I am left feeling indifferent about the story. I did feel for what happens to some of the characters, but the feeling fades, even though it's only been a day since.
I choose not to reveal any of the storyline, as that would ruin this film's impact.
